True story: when I was a little kid in the late 80s, Paul McCartney had a few solo hits. I knew of him as a solo artist. I also knew of the Beatles, but didn't know he was a Beatle. One day when I was 5 or 6 my mom casually mentioned he was in the Beatles and my mind was blown. I was like, "WAIT, PAUL MCCARTNEY WAS IN THE BEATLES? I HAD NO IDEA!" I was a pretty articulate little kid.

If this is my generation, I hate the majority of them already.

It's a very old joke, and it gets trotted out every time someone famous-but-old does a song with someone much less famous but more current.

Even I know who Paul McCartney and I'm Deaf!

Yeah, I had something similar happen with a roommate when Kanye sampled Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger. We were at a club and he immediately started complaining that this Daft Punk guy totally ripped off Kanye. /facepalm

My dad gave me a Sex Pistols CD, when I was that small, lol. At 12, I think I was the only kid I knew, who was listening to both British punk and German rock, besides American music. I written a paper about Rammstein when one of my 8th grade teachers asked us to write about a famous musician. She didn't know who they are, so she made me redo it , so I did it about the Beatles. Making a paper without search engines, around 1999, sure was a pain in the ass.

Damn, when I was a kid Elvis was dead but I still knew who he was. Chubby Checker and Louis Armstrong too.

It is and I hate them with you too.

I'm almost positive these are fake.

Since it's 2015 they are all probably trolling. Nothing is real anymore...

I'm pretty sure this is just trolling, but remember that there was a time when people legitimately did not know who the Beatles were and figured they were ripping off the rock-and-roll boy band fad.

Why? Because they don't like the same music as you?

Good lord. I'm going to quit.
My kids are 5 and 10 and have watched Yellow Submarine, and know who John, Paul, George and Ringo are damnit!

No, it's not really a hatred but some of them do get quite frustrating to be around a lot.

That's the guy from Wings, right?

I was almost the opposite of that, I thought it was someone mixing it together with some other Kanye West track and had a conversation that went something like;
hey, this is cool. So who did this?
Kanye West.
Yes, I know that's the rapper, but I mean who made it?
It's a Kanye West track.
Yeah, but its a Daft Punk remix right? So who did the remix?
Kanye West.

Nope, because they are so fuckin' dumb. I mean they grew up with search engines that gives them almost instant access to a good part of humanity's vast knowledge and they still never heard of some of the greatest musicians of the 20th century.

Proud to say my boys know the names of the Beatles, not to turn down the Clash, are starting to request Led Zeppelin and know who Glen Miller was. (they are 9 and 7 respectively)

You guys have to lead them out of the darkenss and into the promised land. We're too old now, so they won't listen to us. Show them the way of the beetle, and the way of Manuel.

I'm afraid it's too late. The only ones that care are basically already here on Oppo.

I have to give you credit for that, but because it's a terrible joke, I'm gonna have to ask you to leave.

"Greatest" is subjective. There was a time when The Beatles were nobodies before they blew up and became the One Direction of their day. The Clash didn't think they were all that good: "Phony Beatlemania has bitten the dust".
Plus these people are most likely trolling, as people usually do on the internet. And even if they don't, so what? Am I less of a car enthusiast because there's a car out there I'm not familiar with?

Well, if you didn't knew about cars like the NSX, Ford GT or Toyota 2000GT...
